Version 5.1
- New: Expand Batch with Mappings. Takes every value in the filter list, expands each into its matching source values, replaces the list with the union, and copies a two-column mapping table (matched value, originating term) to the clipboard. Solves both batch-expansion and audit workflows.
- New: Loading Indicator Style. Gives you a choice of seeing a textual "loading" message, or a spinner (or nothing).
- New: Single-Word Token Match in Exact. When enabled (and Only Allow Exact, and Fuzzy Matching), a single-word filter list entry expands to every source value where the word appears as a complete token (e.g. typing 'Hollywood' matches every 'Hollywood Blvd'-style value
- Change: Notable performance and memory improvements
- Change: Standard fuzzy algorithm now handles more common English/ASCII misspellings
- Change: Spinner now appears for slower user-initiated operations
- Change: Clearer feedback when expansion produces no matches, when a typed term doesn't resolve in exact mode, or when Expand Batch has nothing to operate on.
- Fix: Fuzzy + Exact matching relaxed as you type values, where substrings are favored over fuzzy matches in the pick list.
- Fix: Other minor fixes
Version 5.2
- New: Multiple Value Source fields. Drag up to 4 fields (from the same table) into the Value Source well. Values are joined into a single searchable string using the new 'Value Separator' setting, and picking a combined value filters the underlying rows across all provided columns. Note: exclude mode is not supported with multiple value fields (a warning is shown; single-field exclude is unaffected).
- New: 'Value Separator' setting controls how multiple field values are joined (default " - ").
- New: 'Container Padding' setting controls the padding around the visual's inner container (previously fixed at 4px); entry row spacing derives from it.
- New: 'Native Slicer' option in the General Style setting. Styles the entry areas with a thin border and slight rounding of the built-in Power BI slicers (with flat buttons), so the visual blends with sibling slicers on the page. The border color is inherited from the current report theme, and honors high-contrast mode; set an explicit Entry Border Color to override. To tighten the visual against its frame, reduce the Container Padding setting.
- New: 'Follow Report Theme' setting (Colors). When enabled, any color left unset inherits from the current report theme - text, borders, links, pill and list colors - so the visual blends with sibling visuals like a standard visual would. Explicit color choices always take precedence. Selecting any Use-case or Styling preset turns this on automatically; existing reports that never pick a preset are unaffected.
- New: High-contrast accessibility support. When the user's Windows/Power BI theme is high-contrast, the visual honors the accessibility palette for text, backgrounds, borders, buttons, links and highlights, regardless of other color settings.
- Fix: With fuzzy matching enabled, typing the leading digits of a value yields immediate matches; previously digit-only input was ignored until enough letters were typed.
- Fix: The visual now detects and clears an orphaned filter left behind when a prior session's clear didn't fully save - previously the page could remain filtered while the visual showed an empty filter list.
- Fix: Typing or pressing Enter during a long data load could permanently halt loading on large sources (the load-completion watchdog fired too early and its cleanup cancelled the in-flight query). The watchdog window is now realistic, a premature trigger no longer applies filters against partially loaded data, and an interrupted load self-heals when the next data segment arrives.
- New: Pressing Enter during loading (in 'Fully Loaded' modes) with a value that has no match yet shows a new "still loading" message instead of "No matches found" - the standard message appears after loading completes if the value is genuinely absent. Localized in all supported languages and customizable (Message: No match, still loading).
- Change: Drill-down is no longer offered on the Value Source field. Previously, dragging a hierarchy into Value Source produced drill arrows with one active level; hierarchy levels now arrive as multiple value fields and combine into a single lookup string (see 'Multiple Value Source fields').
Version 5.3
- Fix: Values entered during load (in 'Fully Loaded' modes) are held now with messaging until the load completes.
- Fix: On very large sources, a value entered during loading could sometimes fail to take effect once loading finished.
- Fix: In List Pop-up mode, the pop-up button's filter indicator now reflects whether the filter box has content, rather than whether a filter has been applied.
- Fix: In List Pop-up mode, the pop-up no longer closes on its own while data is still loading - it stays open across the background refreshes that happen during a load.
- Change: Selecting any preset now also sets General Style to 'Native Slicer', so the visual matches the borders, rounding and colors of the page's built-in slicers.
Version 5.4
- Fix: A filter typed into the entry field could be silently cleared when another slicer on the page changed - the visual still showed the value, but the page was no longer filtered by it. The orphaned-filter recovery added in 5.2 no longer mistakes a live entry-field filter for an abandoned one.
- Fix: After a filter was cleared internally, an unchanged filter value could fail to re-apply, leaving the visual displaying a value that was no longer filtering anything. A cleared filter is now always re-applied on the next refresh.
- Fix: A filter applied from the entry field (with 'Include Current as Type') is now retained when the report is reopened; previously it was dropped during load and the page returned unfiltered.
- Fix: With List Placement set to In-line or Far Right, the suggestion list could render as an unusably thin sliver on a short visual. Those placements now use the full height of the visual, which is the area they are designed to overlap.
- New: 'Native (can overflow the visual)' option in the List Placement setting. The pick list is drawn by the browser rather than by the visual, which is the only way it can extend past the visual's own frame. In exchange, the browser controls the list's size, fonts and colors: List Font, List Height, the Hover / Highlight / Match Background colors and the Close link do not apply, and Attempt Completion, Retain Partial Entered and arrow-key cycling are disabled in this mode. Fuzzy and other non-literal matches may not appear in the native list, although the match count still includes them. The list's exact appearance and behavior depend on the browser hosting the report. The other List Placement options are unchanged.
- New: 'List Spacing' setting sets the exact gap in pixels between the entry field and the filter list below it; 0 makes the two boxes flush. Left unset, the previous spacing is used.
- New: 'Bottom Spacing' setting sets the exact gap in pixels between the filter list and the bottom edge of the visual; 0 makes the list flush with the edge. Left unset, the previous spacing is used.
- New: 'Virtual Frame' settings group. 'Virtual Height' draws the visual's frame at a fixed height while the visual itself can be sized taller on the canvas, leaving transparent space below it that the suggestion list can extend into. Because Power BI paints the built-in background, border, shadow and title outside the visual, this group can replicate them: Frame Border Width / Color / Corner Radius, Frame Shadow (color, blur, distance, angle, opacity), and an in-frame Frame Title (text, font, size, color, bold, padding). Frame border and title colors follow the report theme when left unset. Note that the transparent area below the frame still captures mouse clicks from anything placed underneath it.
