Sales FAQ

Here are some common questions we receive about our products:

Do I need usage credits and what are they?

Usage credits only apply if you're using LLM AI Charts and Maps (for Power BI or Excel) or the User Feedback Capture visual. These products connect to our services to work their magic, so usage credits offset our cloud cost, which can vary depending on how much customers use them.

Can I try LLM AI Charts and Maps for Power BI without buying or creating an account?

Yes — the visual has a freemium trial mode that requires no account and no payment. Each freemium visual instance gets a per-instance usage budget (a finite number of credits). Once an instance's budget is exhausted, you'd either start a fresh instance in another report or move to a paid license. Freemium is intended for evaluation; for sustained use, an organizational license or BYO connection is recommended.

What is "Bring-Your-Own" (BYO) mode for LLM AI Charts and Maps?

BYO lets you configure the visual to use your own API key against your own provider account (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Azure OpenAI). In BYO mode, prompts and outputs flow directly to your provider under your contract with them, and you pay your provider for tokens consumed. We charge a small flat per-request operating fee from your BIC credit balance (your provider handles the actual LLM cost).

I'm a consultant building reports for a client. Can I license LLM AI Charts and Maps for Power BI through my consultancy and distribute my solutions to customers?

Yes — the key is pinning. When you pin a chart for distribution, the visual freezes the finished rendering and strips the license, keys, and account credentials out of the report. A pinned rendering carries no license, technically — so you can hand the report to a customer and it renders, watermark-free, in any environment (Power BI Service, Desktop, embedded, even fully offline), with no account required, no usage credits consumed, and nothing traced back to your keys.

You license LLM AI Charts and Maps once, through your consultancy, and use that license to build and pin as many client deliverables as you like. A pinned copy is a frozen snapshot — the recipient can view and interact with it, but can't re-generate or edit it; to change a chart you simply re-pin a fresh version from your licensed account and re-deliver. That makes it ideal for consultants and agencies shipping finished, self-contained reports to clients who don't hold their own license.

What happens when I have a license that expires?

You will revert to the same state you'd be in if using the visuals for free. This means you'll start seeing watermarks outside of Power BI Desktop.

On a subscription plan this doesn't happen on its own: each payment issues your next key automatically, so the license only lapses if you cancel or a payment fails. On a fixed 2- or 5-year term, it expires at the end of the term unless you buy another.

One important exception: any charts you pinned for distribution keep rendering watermark-free, forever. A pinned rendering has no license attached to it at all, so it's unaffected by license status — expired or not.

I'd like to extend my organizational license, before it expires. How can I do that?

If you're on a monthly or annual subscription, there's nothing to do — it renews on its own and we email you the new key each time. You can see the renewal date, change your payment details or cancel from your account page, and for an annual plan we email you a reminder before the renewal date.

If you bought a fixed 2- or 5-year term, you can purchase another organizational license at any time from the Buy page. Any new key extends your existing license period — no days are lost by buying early — and we can email you a reminder before it expires.

Can I purchase using a purchase order (PO) instead of a credit card?

Yes. We can provide a formal quote and accept a purchase order for organizational licenses, including for government and public-sector buyers. Contact us with the license term you're after and we'll send a quote.
