Getting Started: Your Account, Your Trial, Your First Chart
One account works for both LLM AI Charts and Maps for Excel and LLM AI Charts and Maps for Power BI. Creating it is free, and confirming your email address starts a free 21-day trial: a trial licence and usage credits are added to your account the moment you click the link in the confirmation email. Nothing is granted before that click, which is why that step matters.

In Excel
- In the task pane, tick the box that accepts the terms, then press Link your account. A sign-in window opens on our site.
- No account yet? In the sign-in window press Sign up, then Open the account page. It opens in your web browser. Leave the sign-in window open; it waits for you.
- Create the account in the browser with your email address and a password.
- Confirm your email address. We send you an email with a link in it. Click the link: that is what starts a free 21-day trial and adds the usage credits. Nothing is granted until you do.
- Go back to the sign-in window and press Try signing in again, then sign in with the email address and password you just chose.
- Press Link this workbook. The task pane now shows which account it is linked to and how many credits are left. Select your data and generate your first chart.
Before you have an account you can still use What fits? on your own data and Show an example chart on the sample table. People you share the workbook with see its charts without an account.
In Power BI
- Add the visual to your report from AppSource and bind your fields. Each visual can draw its first chart without an account.
- When the visual offers it, press Create account. The account page opens in your browser. Create the account and confirm your email address, exactly as in steps 3 and 4 above.
- The confirmation page shows your licence: a licensee name, a key, and a single LCH- licence code that carries both. Your account page shows the same any time you sign in.
- In the visual, choose Have a license? Enter it here. (or I have a license on its starting screen) and paste the LCH- code. The licensee name and the 22-character key also work, typed into their two boxes.

If something does not work
- “Failed to log in: check the email and password provided.”
- Either that address has no account yet, or the password is not the one on the account. The message is the same in both cases on purpose, so it cannot be used to find out who has an account. No account yet? Choose Create one under the message. Forgotten the password? Use Forgot password?: the reset link we email is good for 1 hour.
- “This account does not have an active LLM AI Charts and Maps licence.”
- Most often the email address has not been confirmed yet, so the trial has not started. Find the confirmation email, click its link, then try again. If the trial has ended, your account page shows your options.
- “Email me a sign-in link instead”
- Works for an account with a confirmed address that has emailed sign-in turned on. Click the link within 15 minutes; in Excel the sign-in window finishes by itself once you do.
- “This window cannot finish an emailed sign-in.”
- Close the sign-in window and press Link your account in the task pane again.
